Piedmont

Founded in the 1840s, Piedmont provides you with the comfort of small-town living. Piedmont, which stands for Foothills, is located at the base of the Appalachian Mountains chain. This area is known as Dugger Mountain, which is the 2nd highest peak in Alabama. Piedmont does provide smaller manufacturing and warehouse facilities along with several locally owned businesses. Piedmont is home to several historic sites such as the Old Railroad Depot and the Historic Coosa Thatcher Cotton Mill. Whether you want to bike or walk down the northern end of the Chief Ladiga Trail or float down Terrapin Creek, Piedmont offers a wide variety of outdoor activities for all ages.
